A Letter from the League...

To All Stamford North Little League Families,

Based on guidance from state and city officials and a strong recommendation from Little League International headquarters, the Board of Directors of Stamford North Little League has decided that in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we will be postponing all our league baseball activities as of Friday, March 13, until further notice. This includes all games and practices this weekend and beyond.

We will update you about a possible resumption and other information as details become available.

2020 SPRING SEASON

Returning Players:

Returning Stamford North Little League players should register online by clicking on the orange REGISTER NOW  button on the home page of the league website at https://www.stamfordnorthll.com.

New Players:

Players new to Stamford North Little League (i.e., child did not participate in any Stamford North LL programs in 2019) may register online, but must first scan the child's birth certificate and three forms documented proof of residency (driver license, utility bill, etc.) or proof of attendance at a league-area school (e.g., most recent report card) and then email copies to playeragentsnll2@gmail.com.

New registrants for the 2020 Spring Season will receive:

$50 gift card to Instant Replay Sports for each Majors, AAA or AA registration

$25 gift card to Instant Replay Sports for each Single A or Instructionals

WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE ONLINE REGISTRATION.

IT'S QUICK & EASY!

Divisions:

CLOSED.  DRAFT OVER.  Majors (LL 10 - 12 year olds, DOB 9/1/07 - 8/31/10)

You can expect the general commitment level to be four to five times a week (games/practices) beginning in early April, with practices starting in early March. $220

STILL TAKING SIGN-UPS! AAA (LL 9 - 11 year olds, DOB 9/1/08 - 8/31/11)

You can expect the general commitment level to be three to four times a week (games/practices) beginning in mid-April, with practices starting in mid to late March.  $220

PLAYER EVALUATIONS CANCELLED! AA (LL 7 - 8 year olds, DOB 9/1/11 - 8/31/13)

You can expect the general commitment level to be three to four times a week (with about two games and one to two practices) beginning in mid to late April.  $185

A (LL 6 year olds, DOB 9/1/13 - 8/31/14 and select RETURNING 5 year olds, DOB 9/1/14 - 8/31/16)

Each child will be assigned to a team and there will be one to two practices during the week (based on coach's schedule) and there is expected to be one game on Saturday mornings beginning in late April. $85

Instructional (LL 4 and 5 year olds, DOB 9/1/14 - 6/30/16)

There is expected to be a weekly practice/game on Saturday mornings for 1.5 to 2 hours beginning in early May.  $85

All ages above are Little League ages determined according to the official 2020 Little League age chart (which can be found under Documents in left menu on the home page of the league website) and in certain cases, appropriate division of play will be determined by the League and/or by parental request.

All programs above (including any playoffs) run through mid to late June.

Sibling discount ($25) will apply in all divisions for each child after the first child.

Challenger

The Challenger Division is Little League’s adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and developmental challenges. 

The Little League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in school.

In the Challenger Division, there is expected to be a weekly game on Saturday or Sunday mornings with the season beginning in late April through the end of June.  

Games generally last 60-90 minutes. Home games are expected to be played at Springdale and road games throughout lower Fairfield County.  $25

An optional voting membership (for a nominal $5 charge) may be obtained with registration for any of the divisions or may be purchased individually by interested members of the League community.

Fee Waivers:

The League believes that any eligible child should be afforded the opportunity to play baseball, even in cases of financial hardship.  Funding has been generously provided by the Mickey Lione Jr. Fund (www.mickeylionefund.org).   Waivers of registration fees may be available from the League and requests can be made in confidence by contacting us at president@stamfordnorthll.com.  New registrants who are recipients of fee waivers will receive a $50 gift card to Instant Replay Sports.

STAMFORD NORTH LL DAY AT CITIFIELD 

RETURNS IN 2020!

We are excited to once again partner with the New York Mets this year in the 2020 Future Stars Program. One of the biggest highlights from the last few seasons is back!

Stamford North Little League Day at Citi Field this year takes place prior to the Mets vs. Pirates game on Sunday, May 17th, at 1:10 pm.   

Your child, as a player registered for the Spring 2020 season in Stamford North Little League, will receive a free ticket to the game, and will be able to participate in uniform with your coaches and teammates in a pre-game parade on the field!

The Mets will be also have their Hall of Fame induction ceremony before the game and there will be a promotional giveaway that day as well to the first 15,000 fans (to be announced). Also, May 17th is a Family Sunday (inflatables, face painting and other kids activities) and a Mr. Met Dash Day, where the kids can run the bases on the field after the game.

Instructions on how to claim your child’s free ticket and more information on how to purchase additional tickets to the big event will be coming soon!

Stamford North Little League is very proud to announce that we are doing a fundraising drive for the Joe "Junie" DeLeo Scholarship Fund. This fund is being set up in honor of Coach Joe, who celebrated his 50th year helping kids play baseball in Stamford.  All money received will go directly to a league graduate, we hope for the next decade, to help offset the costs of college.  Your tax-deductible donation can be made on our league website under the red  "DONATE NOW" button on the above right (in the Full Site version).  We hope you will make a gift, as every little bit helps!
